Daily Foody is an upcoming Food delivery platform for the clients to order their daily groceries and track their delivery progress. Simple order and a delivery system like this needed a minimal logo to attract customers and leave a print on their memory. Contact us for consultations about your business ideas!

Scope of Work: The technical platforms that would be needed here were — a customer login app — vendor and delivery app — admin panel for the main database of information. When thought about the face of the product, the logo had to be a bare minimum of visual and aesthetic at the same time. We also intended to include the letters D and F from ‘Daily Foody’.

Now, let’s take a moment and go through the basic pointers to keep in mind while designing the above logo :

  1. Geometry
Though we have a gallery full of sketchy ideas, it still should taper down to a simpler form bound by a definite sense of geometry. The logo here had to be kept in a very simple geometry to be seen as one in such a small logo size.
  2. Symbol
We decided to use the symbol of a Cart, which is generally what we use while buying different groceries at a mall, formed by the letters D and F. It would definitely stick in customers’ minds.
  3. Boundary
As we researched different logo styles, we became aware that it is important to be sure if the shape should be independent of a boundary or otherwise. Here, our shape had no fill, i.e it is a simple style of font, and a transparent background could make the user lose the image. A background here, with a lush of green, would be ideal here for a logo of food products.

Thoughts and Process :

We started by building a gridline system to shape the logo into perfect proportions. A vertical slant gridline was introduced on both sides equally, to carve out the basic shape of the Cart, and a blank offset is created in a vertically middle portion to bring out the letter F. On the other hand, the other slant line was used to create the letter d while the circular shape formed the wheels of the cart.

Bringing out the basic shape, it was necessary to trim certain places and wedging the corners into semicircles, rather than sharp corners.

Every circle was given a definite radius to match the thickness of the letters.

Trimming the whole shape again, we finally got the basic line diagram of the logo which we could now edit with ideal colors and bring out some depth to it.

Finally, we had a logo ready to be used as the business platform face!
